Rice Crispy Treats

Serves 9 squares

Ingredients:
1/2 cup brown rice syrup
1 cup peanut butter (if substituting almond butter, use 1 tablespoon less)
Pinch of sea salt
3 1/2 cups of crispy brown rice cereal
1/2 cup blanched almond slivers


Directions:
In a medium saucepan, heat rice syrup, peanut butter, and sea salt over low heat, stirring constantly, until creamy and well combined. Place crispy brown rice cereal and almonds in a large bowl. Add warmed syrup-peanut butter mixture and stir quickly until coated. Press into a lightly oiled, 8x8 square baking pan. Cool until firm, the cut into squares.

* For all you chocolate lovers out there: Add 1/2 cup chocolate chips to the heated syrup and nut butter for a delicious chocolate treat.
