Creamy Scalloped Potatoes

Serves 6
8 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/4 inch thick slices
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. ground pepper
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
Preheat the oven to 375 F.
Butter a 9x14 inch baking dish.
Place potato slices in a medium-sized pot. Cover with water. Place on a stove over high heat. Bring it to a boil. Lower the temperature. Cover with a lid. Cook potatoes for approximately 15 minutes. Drain with a colander. Layer the sliced potatoes on a baking dish.
In a small bowl, combine the rest of the ingredients, except for the Parmesan cheese. Pour it over the layered potatoes. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake in the middle of the oven until potatoes are golden brown and tender, about 30-35 minutes.
